Most SEO companies don’t offer phone consultations. We do because we want our clients to talk to a living, breathing person about their business before they make any decision. It’s very important to us for you to know this isn’t going to be a call to a distant call center only marginally related to our company. We want all business owners to be comfortable calling – we want you to know who you’re calling and what you’re going to talk about. For that reason, we’ve put together this list of points about the phone consultation.
- First and foremost, this is not a sales call. The fact that you’ve chosen to talk to us on the phone is evidence enough that you’re interested in our services. We have no desire to take advantage of that interest or try to pressure you into a sale. Our business is helping other companies make sales, and we know that trying to force customers to buy simply doesn’t work.
- The conversation will likely center on what SEO is and how it can work to your advantage. It’s our goal to end the conversation with you knowing enough about our services to make an informed decision. We can’t expect you to do that if we don’t tell you how our business operates.
- Any basic suggestions or recommendations we have that can help you improve your site performance, both in terms of search engine ranking and user conversion, will come free of charge during the conversation.
- Depending what your interests are, we may talk about restructuring your website to best use SEO, or how our web design services might apply to your business. Because it’s not a sales call, we’ll likely spend more time asking about your current desires and how they aren’t being met, then responding with services that apply directly to you.
- Performance. The mainstay of an SEO company is its performance. If you’ve tried to work with other companies that simply didn’t produce the results they claimed, you’ll no doubt want some information on how we actually plan to do what we say. It’s completely warranted, and we have no problem discussing our past failures as well as our past successes. We’ve worked with more than 300 companies, and learned a lot in the process.
- Targeting traffic to your website is one of our primary purposes. We’ll talk about how that works, how you’re already doing it, and why it may or may not be successful.
- A huge issue for internet business is the number of website impressions that lead to actual sales. These are known as conversions. We’ll address the amount of traffic your business gets and what percent is actually converted. From there, we can think about what your ideal numbers would be and how we can help you get closer to them.
- It may seem obvious, but we should probably talk about your business goals. Obviously, talking about conversions and impressions we’ll touch on the issue, but before we can move forward, we should seriously consider your short- and long-term goals.
- Even at the earliest stages, we’ll be talking about your website design and how your customers experience it. It’s often the case that simple changes can make a huge difference.
- Finally, we should cover what, if anything, you’ve already done in terms of SEO preparation. If you’ve already worked with a different SEO company that hasn’t worked out, we’d like to know what strategies they may have employed so we have a better handle on where to start. What’s working for your business, and what isn’t? What would you like to work better?
- From here, we can talk about what next steps you want to take. If you want to work with us to improve your web presence, search ranking, or customer experience, we can make arrangements for a more in-depth conversation at a later date. If you want to take the advice we have and go out on your own, we also respect that. There’s no pressure to work specifically with us – knowing that you’ve made the first step and considered our service is enough of a compliment that we won’t harass you just to make a sale.
